CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
An earthenware cup and saucer of drabware ground. The simple hemispherical cup decorated at side with a transfer-printed motif in black ink depicting a chained black man on his knees against a foliate backdrop with a single palm tree. The same motif is repeated in a smaller scale within the recessed center of the saucer. A thin gilt line to rim, circular handle of cup and rim of saucer.
