CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Metal side chair with decorative cast elements. Brass chair comprised of tubular legs and back stiles with double band terminals, held together with round head straight slotted screws and bolts. Flat flared trapezoidal seat with faded green/ yellow silk velvet (?) upholstery. Seat rail with illustionistically cast metal "woven braid" that secures the upholstery to the wood seat that supports the padding and show cover. Front stretcher and chair lower back stretcher comprised of horizontal bars with cast decorative sunflowers. Back splat comprised of a circular upholstered panel with applied cast decoration depicting a cast silvered-metal bird in flight drinking from cast metal gold colored flower with leaves; back splat panel attached to stiles with four small decorative knobs, top stile with two similar decorative knobs.
Condition: Fair, stable, heavily tarnished, one decorative sunflower loose, upholstery faded.
