CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Modern Gothic style side chair of oak and walnut with original upholstery. Broad square, deeply upholstered seat set onto square oak seat frame with inset walnut carved rosettes at each corner and two smaller walnut rosettes set into front seat rail between incised geometric rectangular panels. Raised on square legs with original casters; tripartite decoration of carved stylized leaves and flowers. Upholstered seat with narrow side panels of purple velvet trimmed with multicolored twist cord centering woven purple, dark gold, and off white conventionalized floral design. Straight back with rolled crest. Three half rosettes at bottom front of back, incised conventionalized floral motif on front sides of back. Thick upholstered back coordinated with seat. Walnut rosettes set into sides of scrolling tip back crest rail. Back undecorated. New woven purple cotton upholstery on back with new gold gimp to back and at sides of back cushion.
CONDITION: Very good.
