On reverse of base, in Devanagari: "Candra palenaka bhutapala sri vijayasena murti" Possible translation: "The image [set up by] Vijayasena of the time of [king] Chandrapala, with gold inlay and ruby eyes." (Reading provided by donor, to be reviewed by curator)
