CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION (a) ivory bodied, molded, elongated diamond shape with short straight rim, rounded shoulder and small diamond shaped foot. Aesthetic style design, transfer printed in dark blue; smaller overall repeated design contained in a band with a central panel of: centered tall bulrush plant and two opposing diving egrets, with two stylized plants and continuous wave design at bottom. Two larger, repeated side panels of centered, large bird with twig in beak, standing in continuous wave design; flowers on a branch and a geometric design over painted in red and centered large bird with twig standing in continuous wave design with flower on a stylized scrolling branch and geometric design over painted in red. Diaper pattern on foot, and on lower third of main body, highlights of randomly applied painted orange iridescence on design and on diaper pattern at foot. Handles: applied, openwork, ear shaped floral scrolls with leaf decoration at center of handle painted in slight orange iridescence. (b) conforming, diamond shape, slightly domed, with 'u' shaped cut out at short end; Chinese geometric design at center. Transfer printed in dark blue, lower third of lid, diaper pattern; contained in a band, repeated, center panel: large and small flowers on a branch, geometric design, over painted in red. Two flanking side panels: centered tall bulrush plant and two large opposing wading birds, standing in continuous wave design, painted slight orange iridescence on birds. Centered tall bulrush plant and two opposing birds in flight above continuous wave design. Handles: scrolling, openwork floral and leaf design with highlights in orange. (c) diamond shape, with outward flaring rim and raised, diamond shape well, on a diamond shaped foot. Transfer printed in dark blue, overall repeating design, opposing flowers on a branch and painted red geometric design, two diving birds over continuous wave design; two crane birds in flight, with slight orange iridescent highlights. Central well: reserve of bird on a branch with narrow pointed leaves, painted orange highlights on bird and proper right floral abstract design, over painted in red, bordered by diaper pattern. Condition: Very good, light overall crazing.
