CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Vase (a) and cover (b), ivory-bodied porcelain, reticulated, tapering cylindrical shape; on the front of body an asymmetrical trailing gilded vine beside a tranquil scene of Ely Cathedral hand-painted in muted colors; the reverse painted scene of swallows in flight framed on the top and bottom by reticulated bands and on the sides by elongated pierced handles; the circular foot raised on a chamfered square base; the reticulated cover, dome shaped with applied spire-shaped pierced knop.
Condition: Good gilding slightly worn; base re-attached and alignment is off center.
