    PERIOD Gupta Period (possibly)
    DIMENSIONS 9 7/8 x 14 15/16 x 1 7/8in. (25.1 x 37.9 x 4.8cm) mount: 15 × 11 3/4 × 2 1/2 in. (38.1 × 29.8 × 6.4 cm)  (show scale)
INSCRIPTIONS The incised marks at the base may be numerals in Kharoshti script, which reads from right to left. If that is the case then this reads 41. Because Kharoshti numbers are like Roman numerals but without the "less one" feature, that would possibly make this read as 5 (4+1)
