CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Quartz amulet representing the “Heart of Osiris”. The piece is made of translucent green and tan quartz. The piece consists of a heart-shaped body with a male head wearing a lappet wig. The arms, modelled in relief, are crossed on the front of the body. The wig is striated. The eyes are long; the nose and mouth are broad. There is a hole in the top of the head in which there is a corroded piece of metal. An old photo of the piece shows that here was once preserved an entire bronze eyelet.
