CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Oyster or cocktail fork with three tines. Central tine is straight. The two outer tines are notched and have curved sides. The handle has a long thin shaft decorated with a coiling vine and leaves and an asymmetrical Rococo contour decorated with a fish and scrolling leaves against a stippled background. Near the end of the handle is a blank reserve intended for initials. The reverse has similar decoration, but lacks the fish, Columbia Pattern.
The "A1" in the back stamp indicates the best quality plate produced by this company. The William Rogers Manufacturing Co., Hartford, Connecticut, also produces with “Rogers & Bros” back stamp and this pattern.
