CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Tablespoon with plain bowl. Handle has straight sides, which flare gradually out to a symmetrical two-stepped flat top crest. The hard-edge geometrical decoration begins about two-thirds up the stem and consists of: two triangles one above the other, followed by a chevron and then two more triangles in a row point-to-point; then, an elongated hexagon with an empty field surmounted by two narrow parallelograms on either side of a narrow six-sided shape surmounted in turn by two more inverted triangles at the top of the handle. The edge of the handle is decorated with two incised lines divided at evenly spaced intervals by a triad of short crossbars. The reverse is undecorated. Friendship Pattern.
