CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Dagger with wooden hilt in the form of a standing male figure; a wide band of decoratively wound coir in a diaper pattern between hilt and blade; and pointed obsidian blade, flat on one surface and chipped into a biface angle on the other. Human figure features long quartered face, long-lobed ears, tailed cap and angular anatomy.
Condition: Obsidian surface worn and dulled. Lengthwise splits in wood figure: front of headdress, side of genitals, in base (front and back), on buttocks. Small area of possible insect damage on the inner surface of proper right foot. Dirty.
