CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Head of a spirit figure. Wood. Elongated head with facial features carved in very high, dramatic relief. In profile, the deep curvature of the face, weighted by a strong jawline and an overhanging forehead and echoed by the mass of the beard, the nose, and the headdress, is clearly visible. Surface texture is weathered, pitted, and cracked. Condition: Fair to poor. Extensively weathered and eroded. Many old cracks and holes as well as recent ones.
