CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Jar (a) with cover (b), glazed raku earthenware. Spherical body sits on short foot ring. Foot ring and lowest band of body unglazed, charcoal grey. Above this is a wide band of buff glaze and at the shoulder is band of reserve ground decoration with unglazed charcoal grey scalloped reserved areas enclosing yellow glazed double triangles; green band below and brown and green band above with wide band of dark brown on upper shoulder; buff rim and bull interior. Lid (b) has buff glaze with band of dark brown and green at edge. Stepped finial in buff, brown and green.
CONDITION: Some crazing in glaze. Finial broken and repaired.
