Young Girl with Flowers in her Hair (Jeune fille aux fleurs dans les cheveux)

Object Label
Rodin modeled this decorative bust while working in the studio of the Neo-Rococo sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse in the 1860s. It is one of several similar works from this era that demonstrate his attempt to capitalize on this eighteenth-century revival style, which flourished during the Second Empire (the reign of Napoleon III, 1852–70).
