Andrieu d'Andres, Second Maquette (Andrieu d'Andres, deuxième maquette)
European Art
On View:
In this cast of an intermediate study for the burgher Andrieu d’Andres, the head pulled downward, the bowed posture, and the slanted ground suggest precarious forward movement. The firmly planted feet, however, betray the figure’s hesitancy to meet his fate.
