The Brooklyn Society of Etchers have announced that they will open their Twelfth Annual Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum on Monday, December 5th.
"Posters" and their developments since their inception will be the subject of a talk by Henry L. Sparks at the Brooklyn Museum at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, November 20th. This affair is open to the public and the admission is free. Mr. Sparks will have a number of posters on display about the hall which he will use as illustrations of the several periods of the development of this art and as examples of the development and application of new ideas and methods.

The Brooklyn Society of Etchers' Twelfth Annual Exhibition will open at the Brooklyn Museum of Art with a private view on Monday December 5th, and will be open the following day to the public. The exhibition will close on January 3rd. It will consist this year of 308 etchings, aquatints, mezzotints and dry points which will be the work of 135 exhibitors.
An innovation this year will be the inclusion of several foreign artists, so that England, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Canada will be represented.
The prizes to be awarded this year will consist of the following: The Mrs. Henry F. Noyes Prize of Fifty Dollars for the best print in the Exhibition. The Emil Fuchs prize of Twenty-five Dollars for the second best print in the Exhibition. The Kate W. Arms Memorial Prize of Twenty-five Dollars for the best print by a member of the Society. The Nathan I. Bijur Prize of Twenty-five Dollars for the best print by an exhibitor not a member of the society.
The Associate Members' print this year is by Kerr eby entitled "Cornwall" and is a scene on an inlet in England surrounded by rolling hills and with a two-masted ship in the foreground.

The 308 exhibits which will make up the Brooklyn Society of Etchers show can be seen for purposes of review at the studio of Mr. Frederick Reynolds, 17 East 14th Street, New York City. Mr. Reynolds is usually in between nine and eleven-thirty but by far the best results will be obtained through making an appointment with him by telephone. His telephone number is Algonquin 8198.
The prints will be brought to the Museum on Wednesday, November 30th on and after which date they can be seen but they will be in the process of hangingin The exhibition will open on Monday, December 5th, with a private view for members of the Museum and their guests and it will be open to the public the following day.
It is perfectly agreeable to the Museum that reviews of this exhibition be released the Sunday before the opening, namely December 4th, for those papers that have Sunday editions, and Saturday, December 3rd, for other papers.

First announcement was recently made by the Brooklyn Society of Etchers of the officers and council for this year.
The officers are: John Taylor Arms, President; Katherine Merrill, Vice-President; Frederick Reynolds, Corresponding Secretary; Morris Greenberg, Recording Secretary; Frederick Reynolds, Treasurer.
Troy Kinney, Ernest Roth, Margaret Manuel and Frederick Weber make up the council.
The Society now has 71 active members and 436 associate members.
Its 12th Annual Exhibition is now being hung at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. The private showing and tea will take place on Monday, December 5th and the exhibition will remain open until January 3rd.

Nearly 500 persons attended the private view and tea of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers which took place at the Brooklyn Museum Monday afternoon from 3 to 6 o'clock. Some of the well-known people who attended were Mrs. Robert Cushman Murphy, Mr. Albert Van Wyck, Mrs. Clarence Riggs, Mrs. Adrian Van Sinderen, Mrs. Henry F. Noyes, Mrs. Dean S. Edmonds, Mrs. William Denny Sargent, Mrs. William H. Fox, Mrs. Frank L. Babbott, Miss Margery Ryerson, Mr. Frederick Weber and Miss Weber, Mrs. M. C. Draper, Mrs. Morris Ely, Mrs. Gilbert Thierkield and Mrs. Frederick B. Pratt.
Priazes were awarded as follows: The Mrs. Henry F. Noyes Prize of $50. for the best print in the exhibition was awarded to B. J. O. Nodrfeldt for his "Los Cerrillos"; the Emil Fuchs Prize of $25. for the second best print in the exhibition was given to Thomas Handforth for "Rain"; the Kate W. Arms Memorial Prize of $25. for the best print by a member of the society went to John W. Winkler for his "Maison des Saintes, Rouen"; the Nathan I. Bijur Prize of $25. for the best print by any exhibitor not a member of the society was awarded to George Marples for "The Jester of Lincoln Cathedral". The jury of award consisted of Miss Anne Goldthwaite, Eugene Higgins, Kent K. Wetherill, Harry Wickey, Kerr Eby, Paul Verrees and Frederick Weber.
The private view was followed by a dinner of members of the Society at which 40 were presented after which the Museum was left open for the Society and the public to inspect the Danish Exhibition of Paintings, Sculpture and Applied Art.
