It will be possible for you to see the exhibition of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers for purposes of review on and after Friday the 3rd. The exhibition opens on Tuesday the 7th of January. This is the largest exhibition which the Society has ever held and we hope you will find it an interesting one. The jury meets on Saturday, so that it will not be possible to announce the prizes until that afternoon. The exhibition will continue through January.

The Print Department of the Brooklyn Museum begins the new year with its annual exhibition of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers, a organization which includes artists from all over the country and is one of the principal print exhibitions of the year in Greater New York. This year the exhibition will be one of the largest ever held by the Society as it will number over 400 prints which will overflow from the Print Gallery into what is known as the Library Gallery. The exhibition opens officially on January 7th with tea and to the pubic on the 8th and will continue through the month of January.

At the formal opening of the 14th Annual Exhibition of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers at the Brooklyn Museum on Tuesday, afternoon, the four prize winners were announced. The exhibition was opened with a reception to which Trustees and members of the Museum and their guests and the members of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers and their guests were invited. There was an attendance of [blank].
This exhibition is the high mark of the Society as it is made up of 400 prints, the largest number ever exhibited, and the work of etchers from all over the country. It shows gratifying progress as the Society had its inception at the Brooklyn Museum in 1916 and has exhibited there every since then. The present exhibition will be on view until January 31st.
The prizes were awarded as follows:
The Mrs. Henry F. Noyes Prize of $50. for the best print in the exhibition went to No. 327, Herman A Webster, "Soir de Fête, Italie".
The Kate W. Arms Memorial Prize of $25. for the best print by a Member of the Society went to No. 345, John W. Winkler, "Waterloo Bridge".
The Nathan I. Bijur Prize of $25. for the best print by an Exhibitor not a Member of the Society, went to No. 136, Polly Knipp Hill, "Croquis Class at the Academie Colarossi, Paris".
The John Taylor Arms Prize of $25. for the best print by an Exhibitor, who has not yet attained his or her 25th birthday, whether he or she is a member of the Society or not went to No. 312, Andrew Vargish, "McDaniel's Barn".
At the same time the new officers of the Society were announced: They are: Frederick T. Weber, President; Katharine Merrill, vice-President; John Taylor Arms, Corresponding Secretary; David Hendrickson, Recording Secretary.

Two exhibitions will open in the Print Galleries of the Brooklyn Museum on Monday, February 10th. One will be the Annual Exhibition of the Brooklyn Society of Miniature painters which will be on view through February.
The other will be an exhibition of Birds and Beasts in Etchings and Block Prints which will continue through February 27th. This collection has been assembled by the Print Department of the Museum and some use has been made of the Museum's own Print Collections to augment it.
A collection of Original Drawings by Dr. Carl von Marr, the well known Munich artist, has just been arranged on the fourth floor of the Brooklyn Museum in Gallery 17. The exhibition consists of some forty figure drawings. Dr. von Marr was one of the instigators and organizers of the Exhibition of Bavarian Artists which was at the Museum last year. He is one of the distinguished members of the present Munich School of Artists. The exhibition will be on view for a month.
