The Brooklyn Museum Art School opens its Fall series of one-man shows in the Little Gallery of the Art School on September 24. Chosen from work submitted by art school students, the mini-show participants were selected by Lenore Sundberg, a Mellon Research Fellow with The Brooklyn Museum’s Paintings and Sculpture Department.
The six artists, all painters, whose work will be shown are:

Headed by Jolyon Hofsted, The Brooklyn Museum Art School has been in existence over 25 years. Registration is now underway for more than 90 full and part-time courses including painting and drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, welding, woodworking, and for the first time, stitchery and crochet.
New this season is a Critique Course for advanced students in which such well known artists as Herbert Aach, Kenneth Noland, Doug Ohlson, Ray Parker, Fairfield Porter, Kendall Shaw, Reuben Tam, Neil Welliver, Allen Barber, Francis Cunningham and Jane Kaufman will participate. They will offer individual criticism and conduct seminars during the 15-week day and evening sesssion.
A special weekend program for high school students is taught by professional artists.

The Brooklyn Museum Art School Fall series of one-man shows featuring the work of outstanding artists will open in the school’s Little Gallery on October 14 with “Abalone Series” an exhibition of paintings by Joellen Bard. A Max Beckmann scholarship student, Ms. Bard describes her work as “explorations into color experiences inspired by abalone shell reflections.” It will remain on view through November 1, 1973. Admission is free.
Juried by the Museum’s curator of Paintings and Sculpture, Sarah Faunce, the Little Gallery series also includes:
