The Brooklyn Museum is opening today on the fifth floor an exhibition of fourteen paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, which will remain current through September 24.
These paintings are from the collection of V. W. van Gogh, a nephew of the painter, and are being shown in this country through the courtesy of the Dutch Government.
Although the collection is small, it covers every phase of the artist’s work, ranging from the Dutch Period (Still Life: Potatoes), through the Aries Period (Sea-View), and ending with the Auvers Period (Field Under A Stormy Sky).
A fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition and the complete list of paintings is as follows:
