On Thursday, January 29, the Brooklyn Museum’s Department of Prints and Drawing will open an exhibition of drawings by 19th Century and contemporary artists – American, English, French, German and Mexican. The exhibition will be installed in the Print Gallery, second floor, and will remain current through March 8.
The works of twenty-five artists will be shown in this exhibition. The major portion of the drawings will be taken from the Museum’s collection, and will consist of representative works of Picasso, Degas, Van Gogh, Klee, Rodin, Chasseriau, Lachaise, Glackens, Cezanne, Daumier, Peckstein, Speicher, Toulouse-Lautrec, Kantor Rossetti and Quintanilla.
Supplementing the Museum’s collection will be loans, representative of the following outstanding artists: Eric Gill, Eugene Berman, Derain, Despiau, La Fresnaye, Maillot, Matisse, Modigliani, and Segonzac.
