The Print Department of the Brooklyn Museum will put on view an exhibition of printed Christmas wrapping papers from December 1 through January 1.
Some of them will be shown singly in frames and others arranged together in designs in frames. There will also be wrapped packages and a showing of modern Christmas cards contrasted with old illuminated manuscripts and wood cuts of Christmas subjects.
The exhibition will be arranged because of the Print Department’s interest in the products of printing, printed designs, and how they are executed as well as to give recognition to what is being done in this timely form that interests such a large public.
To date those who are lending papers are the Dennison Manufacturing Co. and the Norcross publishing firm.

The Print Department of the Brooklyn Museum will put on view an exhibition of printed Christmas wrapping papers from December 1 through December 26th.
Some of them will be shown singly in frames and others arranged together in designs in frames. There will also be wrapped packages and a showing of modern Christmas cards contrasted with old illuminated manuscripts and wood cuts of Christmas subjects. Papers that are called the origin of the now familiar decorated paper will be shown. These were colored envelope linings that were later developed into Christmas package paper.
The exhibition will be arranged because of the Print Department’s interest in the products of printing, printed designs, and how they are executed as well as to give recognition to what is being done in this timely form that interests such a large public.
Lenders are the Dennison Manufacturing Company, the Norcross publishing firm and the Royal Paper Corporation.
