Plants to the People with Herban Cura
On Earth Day, explore the power of plants with educators from Herban Cura. Receive a free bundle of dried herbs and learn how to use them in daily rituals. Antonia Estela Pérez, a Chilean American clinical herbalist, community organizer, and cofounder of Herban Cura, will demonstrate how to create teas from herbal material. This is our third annual Earth Day celebration with Herban Cura, a digital school, archive, and collective dedicated to deepening studies of history, ecology, lineage, and our relationship with the land.
Also receive free auricular therapy, or ear acupuncture. Certified specialists will offer 5-Point ear acupuncture, developed in the 1980s by activists in the Young Lords, Black Liberation Army, and Black Panthers based on traditional Chinese medicine. Originally designed to support people detoxing from methadone and heroin, 5-Point has wide applications for stress and anxiety.
This event is free and takes place outdoors (rain location: Lobby, 1st Floor).
