Isabel Pinochet
Flourished 19th century, Chile
Isabel Le Brun de Pinochet was a leader of school reform in Chile, where secondary education for women was limited and only available through the church. Pinochet opened a private secondary school in Santiago (1875) which helped pave the way for a state-funded educational system for women and men.
