Ehyophsta

Ehyophsta (“Yellow-Haired Woman”) was a Cheyenne warrior who fought in the 1868 Battle of Beecher Island, in Colorado, against the U.S. Army. The conflict, a retaliatory operation launched by the U.S. following a series of Cheyenne raids against settlers, resulted in victory for the Americans. Ehyophsta also fought in skirmishes against rival Native American tribes.
