These Perspectives: Wendy Ewald and Luc Sante
Sunday, May 1, 2016, 2 pm–12 am
Writer Luc Sante and photographer Wendy Ewald talk about the tradition of vernacular photography―from old postcards to family snapshots―and Ewald’s long history of working with communities to invite them to imagine themselves in pictures. Together they consider the following question: How does the democratic nature of photography, especially in the days of digital cameras and smartphones, challenge our notions of “high art” and the role of the individual artist? Ewald’s work is included in the exhibition This Place.
Free with Museum admission, but keep in mind that seating is first-come, first-served.
