Teen Convening Brooklyn: A Revolution of Self-Expression

Saturday, May 27, 2017

11:30 am–5 pm

Throughout the Museum

This daylong, youth-led summit addresses the revolutionary potential of self-expression through presentations, performances, workshops, and a roundtable discussion. This independently organized event is affiliated with the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston’s Teen Convening.

Participants from a cross section of Brooklyn youth programs will discuss and explore ways we can use art to grow and to address social, historical, and political challenges. Get inspired by our exhibition We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85, collaborate with local organizations, and generate methods and ideas to express ourselves and revolutionize our communities.

Free and open to all youth ages 14–21, as well as teachers and youth workers. Lunch is provided. To attend, RSVP by May 25. Questions? Email us. Learn more on Facebook.
