Teen Night: Lights, Cameras, Crooklyn!

Friday, February 2, 2024

5–7:30 pm

Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor; Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor

Teens: kick off February with 2024’s first Teen Night, a teen-led program centered on art and activism! Inspired by Spike Lee: Creative Sources, this evening will feature art-making, performances, and much more.

Schedule
5–6 pm Gallery activity and panel
Experience Spike Lee: Creative Sources with a self-guided activity. Then, join up-and-coming film directors Marcellus Escobar and Shelly Vasquez for a screening of their short films. A panel discussion follows, moderated by BkM Teens.

5:45–7:15 pm Art-making and food
Enjoy snacks, create collages, design keychains, and test your Brooklyn knowledge with a round of Kahoot!

6–7:30 pm Performances
Close out the evening with performances by poets Jadin Alexander and Stephanie Pacheco, rapper Ziah TL, dance team BrickHouseNYC, DJ Anjelly, and other acts—plus hop on the open mic!

Free; registration is required. Open to ages 14–19. Follow #bkmteens on Instagram and Facebook for more details.

Teen Night: Lights, Cameras, Crooklyn! is organized by the Teen Night Planning Committee, our paid teen internship in public programming.
