READ Brooklyn: Authors Book Fair

Saturday, March 12, 2016

1–5 pm

Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor

We're proud to host the first annual READ Brooklyn authors book fair! Explore new fiction and nonfiction by more than forty Brooklyn-based authors, from science fiction and graphic novels to cooking and artist books. Includes readings, signings, and a special booth for publisher Dancing Foxes Press.

Join these authors for intimate readings in front of their favorite art:

1 p.m.: Archie Rand reads from his artist book The 613, an illustrated guide to the 613 Jewish commandments.

1:45 p.m.: Elizabeth Gaffney reads from her novel When the World Was Young, which captures postwar Brooklyn through the eyes of a young girl.

2:30 p.m.: Rebecca Dinerstein reads from her debut novel, The Sunlit Night, a story of two New Yorkers who find unlikely refuge in one another abroad.

3:15 p.m.: Mira Jacob reads from her first novel, The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing, an imaginative story on making peace with life’s uncertainties.

Participating authors include Emily Anthes, Taylor Antrim, John Benditt, Kate Bolick, Bethany Chase, Stephanie Clifford, Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant, Julia Dahl, Shulem Deen, Rebecca Dinerstein, Mark Doten, Joshua Max Feldman, Elizabeth Gaffney, Emily Gould, Tanwi Nandini Islam, Mira Jacob, Eddie Joyce, Anya Kamenetz, Nicole C.
