Panel Discussion: The Art of Cape Dorset

Saturday, November 5, 2016

2 pm

Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Forum, 4th Floor

Cape Dorset, in the heart of the Canadian Arctic, is widely recognized as the center of Inuit art and the region’s distinctive creative output, particularly prints and other works on paper that have developed an international following.

Join us for a lively conversation that explores the current state of Inuit art and what makes it such a unique form of expression within the broader international contemporary art scene. Learn from panelists from a range of backgrounds—including an artist, curator, and gallery owner—about the celebrated history and enduring significance of the Cape Dorset artistic community. Presented in collaboration with Dorset Fine Arts.

Free with Museum admission.
