Online Summer Camp: Color Coded

August 10–14, 2020
10 am–1 pm

Online

We welcome young artists to the adventure of online art camp! Inspired by our exhibitions and collections, campers ages 8–10 and 11–13 will have fun engaging with art, while interacting with other campers, discovering artists, working with different mediums, trying out new techniques, and more. After five days of art-making, campers close out the week by sharing their creations in Friday’s online Open Studio.

This new program includes LIVE daily instruction with museum educators, teaching artists, and counselors. Families can order supplies from BLICK Art Materials, for delivery directly to you, with an easy-to-use link to a supply list.

During this week’s class, Color Coded (painting and sculpture), study color, shape, and font in the works of Jeffrey Gibson and make paintings that express your ideas. See how Indigenous artists use geometry, textiles, and beads, and then create sculptures inspired by native patterns and designs.

What You’ll Need

  • Internet access
  • An internet-connected device with audio and video capabilities. A computer or laptop is highly recommended, but campers can join by phone or tablet if needed.
  • Zoom, which will be our primary platform. No account is required, and secure links and passwords will be provided.

Registration for this one-week class is $340 ($306 for Members). See more details, including the full schedule and information about scholarships.
