Join us as we recognize World Down Syndrome Day in collaboration with GiGi’s Playhouse, the National Down Syndrome Society, and Lumind. Stop by for an inclusive afternoon of art-making and movement workshops inspired by the exhibition Judith Scott—Bound and Unbound.
2 p.m. Hands-On Art Workshop and Photobooth
Draw, sculpt, and take photos inspired by Scott’s work. Assorted found materials such as colorful yarns, ribbons, and fabric strips provided.
3 p.m. Movement Workshop: "Hop, Skip, and Jump"
GiGi’s Playhouse brings us a fun, high-energy movement workshop that promotes social, emotional, and motor development through interactive play, cooperative games, and physical activity. For people of all ages and abilities.
2:30, 3, and 3:30 p.m. Gallery Tour: Judith Scott—Bound and Unbound
Museum educators invite you to discuss the artist, who was born with Down syndrome, and her art-making process. (30 tickets available for each time slot, at our Visitor Center in the first-floor Rubin Lobby.)
