“making ourselves visible”: a daylong project in feminist space making

Saturday, May 22, 2010

11 am–5 pm

Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Forum, 4th Floor

Artist Liz Linden and writer Jen Kennedy bring their ongoing, collaborative project to the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center. "making ourselves visible" is an interactive program that encourages visitors to take part by voicing their ideas and questions. Joined by Hilton Als, Emily Apter, Johanna Burton, Hendrik Folkerts, Katerina Llanes, Karen Soskin, Moe Tkacik, the YES! Association, and others, Linden and Kennedy explore the question “What does feminism look like today?”

This project is sponsored in part by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc. (BAC). The artists would also like to acknowledge the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York for their support for “making ourselves visible.”
