Walking the Wonders of Grand Army Plaza

Join historian Keith Muchowski on a guided tour of the iconic sites of Grand Army Plaza. As the main entrance of Prospect Park, nineteenth-century architects Vaux and Olmsted envisioned Grand Army Plaza as a grand introduction to Eastern Parkway, a picturesque home for Brooklyn’s finest cultural institutions.

In this walk to the Plaza, Muchowski explores the historical monuments, architecture, and landscapes of Eastern Parkway. Enjoy the sights of the Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Garden, the Art Deco façade of the Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch, and the monumental Soldiers and Sailors Arch on the Plaza.

The hour-long walking tour begins and ends in the Rubin Lobby of the Museum. Then, take advantage of the included Museum admission for the remainder of the day and explore our collection on your own.

Tickets are $20 and include Museum admission and admission to Georgia O’Keeffe: Living Modern.
