Zahyr Lauren and Van Bailey of bklyn boihood host a community discussion on queer fashion in the spirit of the exhibition Zanele Muholi: Isibonelo/Evidence. Participants include:
Dr. Tanisha C. Ford, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and award-winning writer, historian, and public speaker.
Olympia Perez, healer, artist, poet, and Content Director of Black Trans Media.
Jamal T. Lewis, self-identified fat, femme*, gender non-conforming media maker, storyteller, writer, organizer, and multidisciplinary performance artist.
Imani Rashid, author, community organizer, original member of the Salsa Soul Sisters, Third World Wimmin Inc., and board member of African Ancestral Lesbians United for Societal Change (AALUSC).
7:30 p.m. VERGE: New York Fashion Week Runway Show

dapperQ, bklyn boihood, Posture magazine, and DYDH Productions present VERGE, a queer New York Fashion Week runway show, executive produced by dapperQ and highlighting queer and gender non-conforming designers from Brooklyn and beyond. Come early to learn more about the featured designers, document your unique style at our photo booth, and grab a drink at the bar.
