Educator Workshop: Upcycled Fashion
Wednesday, November 29, 2023
4:30–7 pm
Education Studio, 1st Floor
What are the environmental impacts of fast fashion? Explore them in this workshop for educators, along with ways to be kinder to the planet when we decide what to wear.
View works in the galleries that draw attention to climate change. Then, head to the studio for an educational art-making workshop led by Mikaela Clark, founder of Hansel Clothing. You’ll learn about the climate impact of fast fashion and create wearable art by turning a forgotten denim garment into a one-of-a-kind creation. Try out fabric painting, grommet-punching, and distressing techniques to customize your piece.
Please bring a denim garment that you would like to customize (a pair of jeans or a denim jacket, e.g.). All other materials will be provided.
Tickets are $10 and include Museum general admission.
