Opening Celebration: Education Center
Saturday, January 27, 2024
12–3 pm
Education Center, 1st Floor
Bring the family to celebrate the opening of our new Toby Devan Lewis Education Center, where everyone’s an artist! In these refreshed gallery and studio spaces, we’ll highlight Education’s legacy, hosting classes for people of all ages and fostering community and creative expression. Enjoy art-making, music, and giveaways throughout the afternoon. Wrap up the event with a 3 pm artist talk dedicated to intergenerational collaboration, featuring Nona Faustine and her daughter, Queen Ming.
Don’t miss our inaugural installation in the new gallery: Artland: An Installation by Do Ho Suh and Children, a fantastical ecosystem dreamed up in 2016 by artist Do Ho Suh (born Seoul, South Korea, 1962) and his two young daughters. Add to its diverse species of plants and creatures and help imagine the possibilities of an alternate world.
Free; registration is encouraged. This program is presented as part of a weekend-long celebration of the newly renovated Toby Devan Lewis Education Center.
