Drink and Draw: The Obama Portraits Tour SOLD OUT

Thursday, September 16, 2021

7–9 pm

Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor

This event is now sold out. It has also been moved indoors, to our Rubin Pavilion.

Sip and sketch in our backyard Biergarten this summer with a monthly series of life drawing classes, open to all levels and accompanied by a refreshing beverage and musical vibes by local DJs. Honor Black portraiture and power in this month’s class focusing on the vibrant and groundbreaking depictions of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama by artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald. Learn multimedia techniques and try your hand at various approaches to depicting the human form in a casual class led by Museum teaching artist Mellasenah Nicole Edwards. Plus, enjoy a musical set by DJ InO.

Tickets are $35 and include after-hours admission to The Obama Portraits Tour, art materials in your own Brooklyn Museum tote, and a complimentary drink. Member tickets are $25. Not a Member? Join today!

Because of possible inclement weather, this event was moved indoors from our Biergarten.

All visitors 12 and older must show proof of vaccination and a valid I.D. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
