Celebrate the opening weekend of yasiin bey: Negus and join us for an evening of dancing and DJ sets by bey’s collaborators and friends. Negus producer Lord Tusk joins us from London; Preservation, bey’s tour DJ, brings Ethiopian 45s, funk, and soul; and producer and New York nightlife legend Rich Medina honors the golden age of hip-hop and beyond.

A special note about yasiin bey: Negus:

The listening experience is 28 minutes, with the recording being played once, from beginning to end. The wireless headsets have volume controls, but you will not be able to pause, backtrack, fast-forward, or stop the music. You’ll be asked to exit the gallery once the listening experience is complete. Dance Party music may be audible within the gallery space. bey invites you to fully immerse yourself in this introspective listening installation, which is why all mobile and recording devices will be placed in a locked pouch for the duration of your time in the gallery. Laptops, tablets, and other portable electronic devices are not allowed.
