This month’s concert features internationally-recognized guest conductor David Bernard, music director of the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, who leads the orchestra in a program of two stories told through musical tone painting. Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite brims with vivid colors in the tale of a prince who frees his beloved from an evil spirit. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade illustrates tales of “the Arabian Nights” in a passionate composition featuring co-concertmaster Hannah Finkelberg.
