"Bring the Cool" Family Festival

Saturday, June 16, 2018, 12–4 pm

Kick off the summer with a free interactive festival for families, celebrating the true spirit of democracy—freedom to express who you truly are!

Celebrate our stories and dreams and imagine a world where children are in charge, through movement, music, visual art, fashion, and more. Highlights include:

    • Make art all day long with projects such as a collaborative community quilt, activist patches, and watercolor self-portraits

    • Become a living work of art through interactive movement and dress-up activities, inspired by the Eagle-Headed Genies in our collection

    • Meet a puppeteer and make your own bird puppet

    • Enjoy a special concert performance by celebrated R&B and soul musicians Shine and the Moonbeams

Hosted in partnership with Cool Culture and P.S. 1 Elementary School, and co-presented with the Onassis Cultural Center New York as part of Birds: A Festival Inspired by Aristophanes.

Bilingual volunteers (Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese) will be present.

Free for Cool Culture and P.S. 1 families. Free to the general public with Museum general admission (purchase tickets for David Bowie is separately).
