This roundtable on issues surrounding the exhibition HIDE/SEEK: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture will feature curators, museum directors, and some of the exhibition’s artists discussing the role of museums and other cultural institutions in presenting sexuality in art. Participants include Thom Collins, Director of the Miami Art Museum; Norman Kleeblatt, Chief Curator at The Jewish Museum; Risa Puleo, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin; artist, art writer, and independent curator Harmony Hammond; Jim Hodges, New York-based installation artist; and artist Deborah Kass. The discussion will be moderated by HIDE/SEEK curator Jonathan Katz.
