Eve

In the most popular versions of Christian teaching, Eve is the first woman, created out of Adam’s rib. She is the source of original sin because she ate forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. In other traditions, both Christian and Jewish, Eve and Adam were created at the same moment as one being, sharing equally in everything, only later being physically separated. Regardless of tradition, Eve represents a mother of sorts to all humanity.
