The Celtic earth goddess of fertility, health, and prosperity, Danu was the mother of the Tuatha de Danann, the “children of Danu,” a people who inhabited Ireland in the second millennium B.C.E. Danu was a symbol of abundance, usually associated with flowing waters, particularly rivers and streams.
