The Brooklyn Museum has partnered with WantedDesign and BKLYN DESIGNS fairs during the kick-off weekend of NYCxDESIGN, a citywide design celebration.



"Brooklyn Making History: Late 19th and Early 20th Century"

4–4:30 p.m.

Join Barry Harwood, Curator of Decorative Arts, Brooklyn Museum, for presentations on the history of local making during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Fellow presenting scholars include graduates from the Cooper Hewitt/Parsons Master’s programs in the history of design: PJ Carlino presents on the Queens Art Pewter Company’s pewter tabletop objects; Penny Wolfson focuses on tin toy company T. Cohn Inc.; and Megan Schoenbaum speaks about the Charles Graham Pottery Co., formerly located in Greenpoint.

A conversation moderated by Leopold Kowolik, Editor-in-Chief at Studio Magazine, with Barry Harwood, Curator of Decorative Arts, Brooklyn Museum; Nicolas Henchoz, Director, EPFL+ECAL Lab; and artist and designer Sebastian Errazuriz.
