Nell Bernstein, author of Burning Down the House, a heartbreaking and meticulously reported indictment of America’s failed juvenile justice policy, leads a conversation bringing together those who are entangled in, and those committed to fixing, New York City’s juvenile justice system. Panelists also include Jasmine Bowie, youth justice social worker, and Abdul Francis, Brownsville Community Justice Center; Renee Gregory, First Assistant District Attorney, Brooklyn District Attorney’s office; and Krista Larson, Director, Center for Youth Justice, Vera Institute of Justice. Moderated by Tynesha McHarris, Director of Community Leadership, Brooklyn Community Foundation.
