2–2 pm
Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Forum, 4th Floor
This summer, seventeen teenagers participating in Voices Her’d Visionaries, Groundswell’s young women’s leadership program, collaborated with artists Nicole Schulman and Leola Bermanzohn to research, design, and fabricate the monumental mural "For Those Who Speak and Those Who Have Yet to Speak.” Three of the project participants—Dakota Austin, Jennifer Etienne, and Marinique Mora—will share their experiences in creating the mural, a tribute to the CoMadres of El Salvador, a human rights group founded to raise awareness of the disappearances and murders that took place during the country’s civil war. A conversation moderated by Groundswell executive director Amy Sananman and artist Schulman will follow. This event is free with Museum admission.
